If we aren't recalling millions of pounds of good beef or chicken because some idiot didn't cook the meat to 160 degrees it's a frenzy to do something usually wasteful and not all that educational or corrective. Now we get the equivalent of a snow flurry accident situation in Alabama over a brake issue that doesn't affect but a decimal of a percent and it's panic time. Actually what we have is the equivalent of the 1.6gallon low flush toilet 20 years ago...technology NOT ready for prime time being driven by an environmental and government mandate coercion collusion mania. Toyota' biggest screwup was the 'floormat' explanation. It wasn't such a 'big deal' when laptops or cell phones caught fire other than the Drudge Report restating that some global folks thought our brains would collapse from the microwave radiation or plain old burn to death, then it went away till the next incident. But since Obama Motors came into being this is a different world when it comes to Algore' plug in vehicle viewpoint and the democrat insistence that we 'go green' with unproven or too early an adoption of new car gear. Beyond the partisan and ideolog crap that screams from the less watched TV channels a good many Americans would rather a gradual workable walk to solutions that we mostly agree on, just not a forced march premature of a safe and less expensive end result for impatient political reasons. Washington has a strange way of imprinting 'stupid' into our collective mind with it's credit card mentallity and election cycle calendar when it comes to the real world and it's predicatbly slow pace of actual progress. America this election year may just decide it needs a 'restart' button when it comes to the people that will decide the near future of the country' next step towards rational behavior in our Union's unity.
